Planet Youth reports are available for download for each County Council area.

The reports present the results, key findings, key messages, and recommendations derived from the Planet Youth survey datasets. The Planet Youth survey comprehensively examines the lives and lifestyles of young people and asks questions about the risk and protective factors that influence their behaviours.

The report for Galway City is presented in this section of the website. The Planet Youth Galway City 2022 report is based on the pupils in the 11 schools and centres within the city boundary. It presents the responses of 754 15 and 16-year-old pupils who completed their Junior Cycle in Galway City schools in June 2022. The pupils sat the Planet Youth survey in November 2022 after their return to school to start their Senior Cycle. The report gives us a comprehensive insight into the lives of our young people and what it’s like growing up in Galway City now. It provides some trend information across all three Planet Youth surveys and cross- tabulations that examine some of the risk and protective factors in our teenager’s social environment.

The reports for Galway are presented in this section of the website. The 2018 and 2020 reports provide information from the survey respondents in the 51 schools and centres in the city and county. The 2022 report is based on the respondent pupils in the 40 schools outside of the city. It presents the responses of 1,755 15 and 16-year-old pupils who completed their Junior Cycle in Galway County schools in June 2022. The 2022 Planet Youth survey was conducted in November 2022 after their return to school to start their Senior Cycle. The latest report gives a comprehensive insight into the lives of our young people and what it’s like growing up in Galway County now. It provides some trend information and shows cross-tabulations that examine some of the risk and protective factors in our teenager’s social environment.

The 2022 report presents the responses of 1,280 15 and 16-year-old pupils who completed their Junior Cycle in Mayo schools in June 2022. The pupils sat the latest Planet Youth survey in November 2022 after their return to school to start their Senior Cycle. The report gives us a comprehensive insight into the lives of our young people and what it’s like growing up in Mayo now. It provides some trend information across all three Planet Youth surveys and cross-tabulations that examine some of the risk and protective factors in our teenager’s social environment.
